Odesa/Batumi Photo Days Festival and Odesa Museum of Contemporary Art present the main exposition of the Festival – “Territory//Space” exhibition

The theme of the exhibition “Territory//Space” is a rather broad topic that aims to show several spectrums from the private-artistic to the socio-political. Every territory has certain borders, whether they are conventional boundaries or clearly defined on the political map of the world. But are all borders the same for everyone, or are all lines intersecting? The Odesa/Batumi Photo Days 2016 festival offers to explore and visualise this question.

The exhibition consists of works selected by the competition and three invited authors: Konstantin Chernichkin, Artur Bondar, Shilo Group (Sergey Lebedinsky, Vlad Krasnoshchek, Vlad Trikoz), Maxim Dondyuk, Gennady Chernega, Polina Karpova, Daniil Proskurin, Alexander Navrotsky, Sergey Korovainy, Hera Artemova, Evgeny Tsymbalyuk, Natalia Korotka, Maria Brodskaya, Kostya Smolyaninov, Darya Balova, Oksana Kurchanova, Tanya Boguslavska, Tetiana Kika, Krystyna Podobed, Kirill Kovalenko, Mykyta Yurenev, Vitaliy Fomenko, Olena Subach, Oleksandr Ratushniak, Darya Nikolenko, Maksym Finogeev, Nelya Artemenko, Zhuzhzhalka Group (Sokolov, Zasypkin, Yukhimchuk), Roman Bordun, Mykhailo Kryven.
Photographers from nine cities of Ukraine: Odesa, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Ivano-Frankivsk.

The series was selected by an invited commission consisting of: Kateryna Radchenko, Tetiana Kochubinska and Olena Chervonik

Such a project is a unique exhibition – a cross-section of contemporary Ukrainian photography that brings together photographers of different generations and from different cities to present their own vision and understanding of the theme “Territory//Space”. The exhibition space is divided into four sections: Private Territory, City Territory, Territory of Change and Territory of Conflict. Each series is a separate author’s story embodied in photography.

The exhibition is a part of the International Photo Festival “Odesa/Batumi Photo Days”, which was founded in 2015 by Kateryna Radchenko and is held annually in two countries – Ukraine and Georgia.
